After the huge success and participation on the first post-pandemic event with the mission of promoting the brand Portugal Wedding Destination, in 2024, Excelência de Portugal is prepared to lunch the first WINE DESTINATION Event, a format that will promote the best of Wine Tourism in Portugal to international markets and enhances the Portugal Wine Destination brand.

For the first edition we chose Alentejo as the host wine region.

Who are the promoters of this initiative?

To organize this event, Excelência teams up with winexperiences.pt and its creator Bruno Gomes, wine tourism expert in creating the best wine experiences, and wine tourism consultant in some of the most charismatic wineries do Alentejo. And also with DOC DMC focused on wine tourism and partner of Excelência.

What is the concept?

In a family approach and personalized atmosphere, we will create the perfect environment for networking between international wine tourism and luxury tourism buyers, such as operators, agencies and travel advisors and participants such as - Destination Partners - who wish to promote their wine tourism offer or complementary.

Between the 11th and 16th of November, we will present the Alentejo wine region with the best offer with a focus on wine tourism, but also on the hotel and gastronomic aspects, always accompanied by the wines of this region in a perfect pairing to be enjoyed with time and leisurely as it is the Alentejo identity.

And what is the format?

On the 12th and the morning of the 13th, the B2B workshop will be held where each participant, in pre-scheduled meetings, will have the opportunity to present their offer to 30 international buyers.

And what is “uncorking Alentejo”?

“Uncorking Alentejo” are 3 immersive experiences divided between the sub-regions of Alentejo, in tours created exclusively for the event and with partners that provide an excellent wine tourism offer, whether in the territory or in the tour animation.

From the historic Alentejo between Arraiolos, Estremoz and Vila Viçosa to Alto Alentejo, a border region with great potential and still little explored and further south the Grande Lago with the Joia de Monsaraz and the ancient wines in the Vidigueira region.
